Younger players may not have the maturity to fully process or understand the complexities of sensitive scenes, which could lead to them being railroaded. If these scenes are not handled properly, they can cause distress and confusion. If there is a need for age restrictions on Band 1 positions to ensure they are managed appropriately, the same reasoning applies to mental health scenes.

Implementing age restrictions on MH scenes helps maintain a safe, respectful, and suitable environment. These restrictions ensure that only individuals who are emotionally and mentally prepared to engage with such content can do so, fostering a space where sensitive topics are addressed with care and maturity.

Engaging in sensitive scenes requires a certain level of emotional maturity, empathy, and the ability to navigate difficult or uncomfortable conversations responsibly. The younger player base may lack the life experience necessary to engage respectfully in these scenarios, which can lead to misunderstandings and inappropriate reactions to MH scenes.

I agree, for both sides. Civ and people who don’t want to be involved / see it. I think it will be a good thing to note

+1

From a Civ Side. MH scenes are restricted to Senior Civs, which due to being a Band 1 Position is restricted to 16+ anyway, so any civ doing an MH scene will be 16+.

From a JRU side of things, that might be a little harder to enforce, and isn't necessarily a fair situation in my opinion, there are 13-year olds who are more mature than adults and vice versa.

can i also suggest MH Scenes happen in /me chat as one happpened today and was done in yellow text and in yellow text where everyone sees it can be triggering for people who do suffer from it

This has been brought up and has been resolved for future scenes.

Hello all, thanks for highlighting your concerns. Put bluntly, we have no way of monitoring individuals age if they do not wish to share this information. Actively monitoring it is another thing.

Mental Health Scenes and the complexities behind the circumstances of these scenes leads to a different kind of roleplay which isn’t seen everyday. It’s important to realise that not every scene will see the absolute extremes of what some individuals may experience during a crisis. What may trigger/upset/concern some players may not affect others.

The development team, nor senior management are in any position to say what each individual can RP and to what extent without experiencing some sort of feeling. This is down to the individual player. This is why MH RP scenes can be avoided. You do not have to engage in these scenes if you do not like.

Put bluntly, a fatal RTC, a shootout or any other scene has the potential to affect players in a certain way. You are free at ANY time to stop RP if you EVER feel uncomfortable or overwhelmed. You do not need to justify this to players, simply do what it best for you and move on to the next scene.

Civ command and SPC are actively working to alleviate any issues regarding these scenes and have taken feedback on board. Please allow them to work things out while we transition to a new era of roleplay within PMP.

Thanks for raising this,

So I think what’s important to understand is we are based on a platform that is a strict 18+ age rating. FiveM TOS also adopts that, with that being said if a player or players parents don’t adhere to that, simply put it’s not for us to police.

We also have to factor in violence is all around on the server and GTA as a whole. I’ve personally never understood the issue with MH scenes or the bias they get.

My logic to that is - shooting & stabbing what is visibly a police officer is acceptable, using a car to commit in game what is ultimately terror offences- deemed acceptable.

But we somehow seem to draw a line at a person being struck by a train etc.

So as far as what’s acceptable and realistic, a person struck by a train is far more common.

As far as “visuals” there is no difference in what is displayed on screen for a shooting or stabbing when compared to a bridge jumper or person struck by a train.

We also have to factor in we are a server that emulates emergency services, unfortunately a large part of there role is dealing with MH instances. We have avoided that subject for years, but ultimately the question we asked was why - and they only thing we got was it triggers some people.

When we breakdown what actually is a trigger it could be anything - a sound, a smell, an object.

Simply put these are likely all things they face in the real world, from a personal perspective if you don’t feel like you can deal with or want to be part of that scene then the simple advise is don’t. The server is busy enough to be able to avoid these jobs.

As far as our MH scenes they are very tame in comparison to other servers too.
