Division - AUX - Flight Operations
Name: Helicopter Mechanic

Summary: Helicopter Mechanic, the idea is of to do daily checkups on helicopters or work with LFB if a helicopter has crashed. The role of an NPAS Engineer is to respond to Helicopter Emergencies such as MayDays, Helicopter Crashes, Pilot requests, Engines smoking ETC.

The CIU of Helicopters

Callsigns:
Mechanic : 10 - 11 - 12 - 13
Head Mechanics(Trainers): NPAS 27 - 28
Flight Captains: use there NS callsigns

I have been doing this in the past but stopped because I was told this was not allowed it would be amazing in terms of RP to have this implemented

I've heard from players (In Game and Out) that this is a great Idea

This could be a substitute for buddies
So in DSU, we have buddies and then trainers
but in fight ops, we could have engineers > Trainers

But we can start with the basics first

It would be a self learning package after 20 hours of time in the air
You could not use mechanic as to help with your 4 hours a month
You should do a report everytime you do a checkup or crash helping.
You would replay checking stuff or good at helping LFB with crashes.
You would use your uniform without the helmet (unless on scene)
You would use the ford ranger NPAS vehicle

Hi Blimpus,

Thanks for your suggestion, we have discussed this as a command team and unfortunately won't be implementing this. The Air Accident Investigation Form already covers parts of this and the RP should be dealt with from an LFB and LAS side in relation to injuries and extraction. We have recently changed the way you're grounded after submitting an AAIB so you're able to fly again straight after. We looked at the scope of this idea and unfortunately it falls short.
Aircraft with properly trained Pilots should be able to avoid a crash quite easily. Personally from my experience the only time I have ever crashed an aircraft in PoliceMP is because of a game crash or deliberate planned crashed which is extremely rare.
