Hello!

I can't see that this has been suggested before, so apologies if this a repeat.

A couple of us ERT command were wondering if it may be possible for an ARO specific uniform - even if this was a slight variation on the current ERT uniform, such as the inclusion of a met taser vest, instead of the 'met vest', or a patch etc. The thought process behind this being that, with the exception of TSG (for obvious reasons), ERT is the only police division with no sub-divisional specific uniform, and given the high level of training AROs undertake, it seems fitting that they have some uniform variation to distinguish them from the rest of the division (i.e., the same applies for Raptor, FSD, SCD, SRO etc within other divisions). We would like ARO to be just as attractive as some of the other police sub-divisions that will bring in and retain players, and we feel that a small step like this could help show response poling is as just as much of a specialist role as others.

Thanks for reading :)

Jack

Noted that this was raised last year -however this was declined at divisional level - as a new divisional command team we have agreed on the idea, and so would like it re-visited at the next level up :)

The whole point of an area car is to give you an advanced driver ticket whilst being able to use high performance vehicles. There isn't a uniform change with it, you will still wear the exact same as a standard response driver or IPP and any response officer in general.

I appreciate your thoughts, however this is oversimplifying what AROs are and do, it’s much more than ERT with advanced driver privileges - it’s a highly trained sub-division which only a minority of players get into. As per my above - ERT is the only division with no sub-divisional uniform variations, and we don’t think that a slight change for ARO (I.e. a taser vest for example) is an unreasonable suggestion :)

From my understanding, they are there to assist with fast road/pursuit capabilities. They are highly trained drivers, that's the only thing about them that is highly trained.

This FOI basically explains it all, I understand it may be limited to a small number of people but they just have extra driving capabilities. Some of them may hold the TPAC driver level, but that is limited to a few.

New LBVs would be nice yeah, totally agree, but they should be accessible to whole of response.

I would love to see this implemented, ARO is alot more than just normal ERT but with a fast car, simalar to IRL, ARO officers are oftern the most experianced and well trained officers on a responce team, handpicked to become an advanced officer and considering as RS6 mentioned ERT have no sub-division uniforms having something to make ARO stand out but still be realistic would give people another reason to want to be apart of ARO but also another insentive to stay once they have achived it. ARO is sort of ERT's version of RAPTOR when it comes to handpicked and highly trained officers and they are able to have their own uniform to make them stand out despite still being RTPC.

This uniform is one that is currently used in the met police responce team and oftern more commonly seen on the more experianced officers (have seen them used multiple times personally), it is keeping with ERT realistic uniforms and is still different to the likes of COLP and RAPTOR as to not cross over and create confustion.

Kind regards

Despite the fact ARO itself may not require a seperate uniform to function, as other members have stated, I do agree there would be merit in a variation of the ERT uniform for ARO only. There are response jackets etc that are unused which could be added for this reason. Moving to divisional review for ERT Inspector signoff.

After discussing this with (RI1) Aidan, believe this would be a good idea for making ARO stand out a bit more and potentially make it a bit more active throughout the server benefitting further units.

Potentially something we could add to the Jacket or something, I'll push this forward to devs to review now
