Suggestion Title: RTPC to deal with DUI instead of CID

Division: MET - RTPC

At the minute, CID is called to attend scenes such as Drunk driving, drug driving, written-off vehicles and scrapped etc.

I feel this should be moved under RTPC's remit as in real life, CID wouldn't be dealing with this kind of job unless it was part of a bigger fraud-related operation.

I agree. With regards to those scrapped and written off vehicles it would most certainly be dealt with by RTPC and Force Vehicle Examiners which is a specialist role not covered by CID. In the Met they have a team also called VRES which also covers this. As you say other driving offences wouldn't be dealt with by CID potentially unless it's a kind of wider picture type of situation.

This idea kind of comes back to another idea I saw a while ago about RTPC having a case system same as CID but only for vehicle crime where no CID interest exists.
