Hi Team,

I'd like to suggest open days/events for each of the specialist roles whereby any officer can attend and try a role/vehicles/units. This would give officers a feel for different specialist roles before applying and the practice skills that will be required further down the line should an application be successful (especially where skill based tests might be involved, NPAS/AFO Etc.). It could also be used to demonstrate what skill based tests are involve as part of the selection process and the standard required prior to applying.

I think this benefits all officers by show casing what development opportunities are available and what's involved. Potential recruits for specialist roles can start to gain some experience and skill which will be useful should they apply for roles. It's also be useful to seniors and heads of departments as they can see who attends these events and puts in the effort, as well as spotting potential future talent.

For example - at present I have no idea how the dog works in game (can the dog chase suspects, can it find people, can it detect drugs or are these all RP only elements?), getting to try out the role would answer all these questions, give some valuable experience and knowledge and help me decide if this is something I wanted to apply for. I would also be gaining competence prior to applying which will help with an application. Even if I later decided this is not a role I wish to apply for, as an officer I would have a better understanding of this unit, it's role, capabilities and how best to support these specialist officers and when to call upon them.

Thank you for your consideration.

I agree,

With being a new member to the community. I feel by being able to do a ride-along, it would help in choosing the 2 divisions that you're allowed to be apart of and understanding the role before committing.

You can fill out an Divisional interest form and you will be paired up with a buddy from the chosen division....

please copy and paste the above link to be taken to the form

if you have any questions please don't hesitate to contract me on discord
thanks

Is there somewhere on the forum, where all these docs are located?

Have a look at #announcements specifically from 19/05/2021 from Ryan OT1.
It says:
@everyone

Evening all,

Apologies for the slightly later ping, as divisional heads we've sat down with Bronze, Silver & Gold about the potential of an open day for divisons. This will allow all PC's & Cadets experience their dream divisions or learn more about other divisions that they'd like to be involved with. It'll allow you to see and drive assets, work with existing members to hear how we operate and have an opportunity to live that "life" for a short while.

We've come to the decision that we'll do this over a weekend in June, i've created the below poll to allow us to vote on which suits best;

Any issues, please drop anyone within Bronze, Silver or Gold a message.

Perfect, thank you

As above,

Appears we have a process in place for this. I will lock this thread.

Thanks,
