Closed - Acknowledged ANPR Markers

Add the marker of FI (Firearms) which then AFO would attend to. WE (Weapons) would be knives, bats etc... so any unit could pull over and stop & search due to the report of weapons but obviously take caution.

Agreed, separating the Weapons marker into a Firearms and a Weapons marker would be a positive change for the community. That way AFO would save time and resources by having to deal with fewer false positives which require multiple vehicles at a time for pre-emptive stops, and also give more freedom and responsibility towards the other MET divisions.

Have to admit I do prefer this slight change as there's a huge difference between a weapons marker which can be something as small as a knife and a boom stick
