Is there any reason why CIU would need Crime scene images?

The suggestion for a CIU thread is to be able to post CIU form pictures in there instead of posting in the current shared crime-scene-images. This is to stop confusion and also most CIU deployments are not for crime.

It would prevent confusion for some CID/CIU members when entering in the next crime reference number, as some people take the previous CIU number as the previous CID one and go one up from it, this can cause a chain reaction that everyone must go back and change when made aware of it. Also CIU forms are not always reporting a crime, and so keeping crime scene images to solely crime related reports would be beneficial.

After considering both CID and CIU utilising crime scene images, i can't see a reason for why you both can't use the same channel.
You've both got your own unique identifiaction methods of showing which is which. CID using PMP/####/Date/MPS, and CIU using PMP/####/Date/CIU. If there are members who are not utilising the correct identifiers then that's down to the training and isnt warranting of another channel.
