What I am suggesting is rather than having division-specific documents which only certain people in them divisions have access to a set of community-wide policies are written up, for example, a pursuit policy which covers everything from IPP, tactical contact, when to call off a pursuit, pursuit commentary and so on, so in effect everything pursuit related in one document saying how things are done, what can be done and what should not be done. These documents should be available to all members so say someone does not do something that is following the policy it will be fair to punish them as there is a publicly available document saying they should have not done something rather than punishing people for unwritten rules or rules which people do not have access to.

All divisions having access to the same set of policies will mean things are done in the same way across the community reducing any issues or conflicts that could occur due to people doing things in different ways. There should also be ways for members to suggest adding things and removing things from policies and maybe a debate area where modifications to the policies can be discussed and voted on meaning the community has more input in the way things are done.

The following are a list of policies that should be added as community-wide policies, the end of the day there is no harm in saying a response officer seeing firearms policies as it will mean if the response officer wanted to report the firearms officer for a firearms specific violation they can reference the policy rather than just assuming things.

Pursuit Policy - Pursuit comms / IPP / Training levels / Spike strips / Risk assessment / Type of vehicles suitable
Radio Policy - How to use the radio / Message types / When to use different channels / What not to use the radio for
Use of Force Policy - Explain when force should be used / Give examples of when to use a baton, taser, firearm and so on / explain the excessive force
Crime Scene Policy - Explain the rules of a crime scene / who has control / what to look for /how to investigate
RTC Policy - Explain health and safety / What to look for / Explain fatals / Explain how you would secure the scene / Explain when vehicles should be removed
Major Incident Policy - Define what a major incident is / Explain who can declare / What should be done / Command structure
Patrol/Operation Policy - Explain command structure / How officers not on the patrol/operation are effected

These are just some of the examples of policies which would make sense and if they are already made it would just be the case of say making a discord channel everyone has access to and adding all the titles and link so any officer can access the policy.

@James_30 I will leave this with you to action as you see fit within silver command.

Hello! Firstly thank you for your suggestion!

Most of what u have suggested is already in place when people get trained up to police constable or taught just a bit after that in terms of policys! As for everything else we believe its not fully needed at this time but it is something for us to keep in mind!

Thank you!
