Suggestion Declined MET - AFO: AFO covert operations (plain clothes)

hello to anyone that is reading this
so i would like to make a suggestion for AFO now im not in AFO myself but i think this could make a great addition to AFO i think that there should be a thing within police MP where AFO can go fully covert the reason for this is that AFO can handle things Like AFO sting operations more easily ie someone selling a firearm or weapon this thing does exist in real life these officers are known as armed surveillance officers its basically a mixture of UCO and AFO thank you for reading this and i hope this can happen is i think it can add more realism

I am very against this as there is already a covert specialist division within CID, that being UCO. We are already trained in covert ops, moving this over to AFO will take away from CID and for potentially a miniscule portion of undercover scenes. -10

would they not only be doing covert firearms jobs? not UCO

As vipes said above im against this to as UCO is the undercover team if they give AFO covert uniforms i think its only fair for UCO to get guns to balance the scale

Giving UCO and SCD firearms would allow them to work alongside AFO on covert strikes and encourage more cross-divisional operations like we currently see with ARO&RTPC

There is no need for this change at all. Operationally if we require AFO we are going to strike. There is no need at all to have them deployed into a deal at all as we do not deploy into firearms deals due to the obscene risk involved.

Within the MET. There is a division called MASTS (Mobile Armed Support to Surveillance Officers) could be worth looking into in particularl for weapons deal scenes etc

Hello,

Thank you for your Suggestion.

This type of Subdivision has been requested before under the name of "Armed Surveillance Officer" or similar. This type of Subdivision in PoliceMP would remove some work from UCO and CID and would remove some cross-divisional work which we want to increase and encourage rather than decrease. As AFO, we should be trying to work with UCO and CID.

As such, I will be moving this suggestion to declined.
