Suggestion Title: RTPC Roads Crime Team (Raptor) / Bringing more purpose to RCT

Division: MET - RTPC

Bringing more purpose to RCT currently our sole purpose is just bikes practically, while this is absolutely brilliant, RCT being used really isn't that common anymore in comparison to when it was released or when we have intakes.

I think making us multi-purpose in some way fitting the name of the team such as;

1. Scorpion units (our raptor) chasing bikes, or even having free range/use of traffic bikes chasing other bikes like irl (along with the cars chasing too).

2. Raptor (irl way of it) targeting specific high risk areas, people/individuals who cause risk to other road users and the road network itself, with both visibly marked and unmarked vehicles and bikes to target these risks through a use of tactics.

3. Spider Unit whom patrol while utilising ANPR to target 'high harm offenders', such as gangs, OCGs and so on so forth.

The idea would to practically merge all of these teams/roles into one under the 'Road Crime Team' or as currently known 'Raptor' where the officers within the sub-division (along with their training for this role/capability) can perform all of these roles highly effectively, with this being under RCT would help massively giving us more purpose, and that element of team work we already have further exemplified from knowing each other and how we all work together, therefore creating a multi-purpose/role team that is highly efficient and can target a multitude of areas/offenders.

I believe this RCT if these changes are implemented would be able to massively assist other divisions such as CID, as it gives us that extra capability and role which may also ease of the workload of general traffic units while the RCT can deal specific individuals and groups.

Agreed fully! We need the rtpc command team to link in with civ command team so we have deployment areas. EG every 2 weeks it changes, one week it could be Vespucci for high-level crimes/OCGs/gang activity in cars and bikes and that is where raptor is deployed too and mainly patrol. Then it could change to a different location. Need something like this to promote more activity rather than making people do CIU and reduces their overall hours every form they do. +1

I somewhat agree with this suggestion.
However,

As far as I can see, this will take away from what normal RTPC can do. I can see RCT working alongside RTPC however how I am reading / interpreting this.

Wouldn't take away from normal traffic assets, it would just give a specific focus for the team to target much as like irl specialist teams within units work

to add on, MO8 units and Scorpion/VCTF/RAPTOR units would work together to stop crime anyway.

Thank you for your suggestion. Unfortunately, we will be declining this suggestion.
We are currently reviewing RCT and how Raptor works with future developments already underway.

As you can imagine, making these developments isn't simple and takes time; therefore we request patience while we continue to try and improve the experience for all of our RTPC Members.
