Suggestion Title: Change to HEMS requesting SOP or upskilling AP's

Division: NHS/LAS

IRL an AP isn't a required asset for a HEMS request, it can be requested en route by the attending crew at any grade and would be assessed by the HEMS/critical care desk. whilst a dedicated desk would be a pain to staff it would be helpful if we could request as paramedics for SPECIFIC skills. i.e "HEMS required for stitching" "HEMS required for likely amputation".

Failing that it would it be a consideration to give the stitching skill to AP's potentially as a training package as a number of trusts do use advanced paramedic practitioners in order to attend to stitching//woundcare//wound closure requests, provided they complete a woundcare module

This in turn would reduce the "stitching" workload on HEMS and allow them to focus on the critical care jobs and multipatient//multi-agency calls and increase coverage during those awkward times when theres no HEMS online.

Sincerely,
Rajtech.

Hello, Thank you for your suggestion first and foremost.

At this current time we wouldn't be looking to change the scope of Practice for Advanced Paramedic. As this is a game, we try to include sections of Real life practice however not everything will be exact true to real life.

Every Area of the NHS has an indicative scope of practice to allow for all to have something to work towards and unfortunately this would make one division void, and another more active.

HEMS have a specific criteria that should be met before they deploy to a scene, This being Traumatic Injuries or where Stitching is required. If you feel that wounds are requiring stitching for minor injuries then please raise this through a Team Leader.

On this occasion i'm going to Decline This suggest, We may revisit this in the future.
